This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information across the CIWAO App. This is our privacy policy and we will comply with it, as well as applicable U.S. privacy law, when we gather and use information from users of the Services. We encourage you to read this privacy policy to understand what we do with the information we collect from you.
There are three general categories of information we collect.
When you use CIWAO, we collect the following information among other:
CIWAO reserves the right to collect information that others provide about you when they use the CIWAO app or obtain information from other sources
Third Party Services. CIWAO may allow you to login to your CIWAO Account with a third party service; i.e., Facebook. This third party service may send us your registration and profile information from that service. This information is controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
Background Information. to the extent permitted by applicable laws, CIWAO may use the information provided by you to obtain reports from public records of criminal convictions or sex offender registrations, or demographic data or fraud detection information and risk assessment efforts for members inside or outside the U.S.
CIWAO doesn’t guarantee to collection of this information and therefore, CIWAO users must use the CIWAO app at their own risk.
CIWAO Services are funded through advertising dollars and fees paid by realtor®, property managers and home owners. This advertising helps CIWAO be free of charge for buyers and renters. It also allows us to explore and build new features.
We strive to make advertisements relevant and useful to you and to provide your contact information and profile information to businesses or companies that are relevant and useful to you. We may serve advertisements to you based on the information we collect from you or in relation to your interaction with the Services.
Partners with whom we conduct business. CIWAO may give business partners access to Personal Information only as necessary to offer products and services with those business partners, and subject to the terms of this privacy policy
You may receive email from CIWAO for a variety of reasons - for example, if you took an action through the Services, you requested access to a CIWAO home, or for other advertisement and marketing purposes.
CIWAO will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any person under the age of 13. The Services are not designed to attract the attention of persons under the age of 13.
We may use the information your provide to create and maintain a trusted and safer environment.
By using the CIWAO app, you give CIWAO the legal rights to share your contact information such as your full name, address, phone number, e-mail, buyer/renter’s profile, and other information you have provided on the CIWAO app.with other third parties and CIWAO partners, advertisers, affiliates, etc. This is intended to help connect buyers/renters with realtor® and property managers and other CIWAO partners and advertisers such as insurance companies, loan officers, etc,
We don’t share your billing and payout information with other Members.
The CIWAO Platform lets you publish information that is visible to the general public. For example:
Information you share publicly on the CIWAO APP may be indexed through third party search engines. We do not control the practices of third party search engines, and they may use caches containing your outdated information.
CIWAO may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement or governmental authorities, or authorized third parties, if and to the extent we are required to do so by law or if such disclosure is reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with legal process and to respond to claims asserted against CIWAO, (ii) to respond to verified requests relating to a criminal investigation or alleged or suspected illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other of our users to legal liability, (iii) to enforce and administer our Terms of Service or other agreements with Members, (iv) for fraud investigation and prevention, risk assessment, customer support, product development and debugging purposes, or (v) to protect the rights, property or personal safety of CIWAO, its employees, its Members, or members of the public.
We will attempt to notify Members about these requests unless: (i) providing notice is prohibited by the legal process itself, by court order we receive, or by applicable law, or (ii) we believe that providing notice would be futile, ineffective, create a risk of injury or bodily harm to an individual or group, or create or increase a risk of fraud upon CIWAO property, its Members and the Platform (collectively, “Risk Scenarios”). In instances where we comply with legal requests without notice for these reasons, we will attempt to notify that Member about the request after the fact if we determine in good faith that we are no longer legally prohibited from doing so and that no Risk Scenarios apply.
If CIWAO undertakes or is involved in any merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or insolvency event, CIWAO may sell, transfer or share some or all of our assets, including your information. In this event, we will notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Parts of the CIWAO APP uses Google Maps/Earth services, including the Google Maps API(s). Use of Google Maps/Earth is subject to Google Maps/Earth Additional Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.
CIWAO website may contain links to third party websites or services, such as realtor® and property managers, co-branded services, or third party-branded services (“Third Party Partners”). CIWAO doesn’t own or control these Third Party Partners and when you interact with them, you may be providing information directly to the Third Party Partner, CIWAO, or both. These Third Party Partners will have their own rules about the collection, use, and disclosure of information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the other websites you visit.
You may review, update, or delete the information in your CIWAO Account by logging into your CIWAO Account and reviewing your Account settings and profile.
CIWAO may partner with international companies and reserves the right to share your information within partners. When you use the CIWAO App, you authorize us to transfer, store, and process your information in the United States and possibly other countries. Laws in these countries may differ from the laws applicable to the place where you live.
We try our best to implement and update administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. However, the Internet is not a 100% secure environment so we can’t guarantee the security of the transmission or storage of your information. Therefore, by using CIWAO app or website you do so at your own risk.
CIWAO reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with this provision. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the CIWAO website and App and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. CIWAO will not provide you with notice of the modification. It is your obligation to check our Privacy Policy page often. If you disagree with the revised Privacy Policy, your only recourse is to cancel your Account. Your continued access or use of the CIWAO App will constitute acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
